Feb 7.
Today we met at Apache Elementary School where we got to watch HOUDINI perform some of his magic tricks and his great escapes from various restraints. He did his disappearing egg trick, a comical escape, three rope trick, a chain escape, and a straight jacket escape (which I assisted on). On each of his escape tricks, he promised $100 to the person who bound him up if he could not get loose. That would have been nice to have. A phrase that he kept telling the children was "Read, Study, Practice." Reading is good for the mind and soul, studying gives you a better grasp on things to be learned, and practice makes perfect.
Afterwards, we met at a little cafe on Main Street, enjoyed a nice bite to eat, and listened to everyone's "I am from..." poems. We also had the opportunity to see everyones family crest which are now displayed in our classroom for everyone;s enjoyment.
